Lebanon Church of Christ

Statement of Faith

The Holy Bible

We believe that the bible is only provided for us by God, written by the Holy spirit. It is the foundation of our church teachings.

Ephesians 2: 20, 2 Peter 1: 19-21, 2 Timothy 3: 16-17.

God

We believe in one God of three hypostasis “Father, Son & the Holy Spirit” that God is one Holy, Everlasting, Omnipotent, Creator of all things.

Genesis 1: 1, Isaiah 43: 10-11, Psalm 99: 9, 1 John 5: 6-8, 1 Corinthians 8: 6, Matthews 28: 19, 2 Corinthians 13: 14, Ephesians4: 1-6.

Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus is the Son of God, who came to earth and incarnated from the Virgin Mary and died for our salvation and rose on the third day. He is our Lord and only Savior.

Matthew 3: 17, Matthew 17: 5, 1 John 5: 5, 1 Corinthians 15: 1-5, Acts 4: 12, Acts 2: 22-24.

The Holy Spirit

  • We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third hypostasis of the Holy Trinity, the life-giving Lord of the Church, a source of comfort for believers. He is the teacher and guide to all truth.
  • We believe in the person and divinity of the Holy Spirit and his existence with the Father and the Son before the foundation of the world.

    Ephesians 1: 4, John 17: 24, 1 John 2: 23, Genesis 1: 2, Acts 5: 3-4.

  • We believe that He was poured on the earth on the day of Pentecost on a single historical day.

    John 7: 37-39, John 14: 15-20, John 16: 7, Acts 1: 4-5, Acts 2: 32-33.

  • We believe that the person of the Holy Spirit is the one who convicts a person of his sins so that he can return to the Lord in repentance, and he is the one who resides in a person’s life when he experiences salvation, that is, the new birth, and this is what we call “to experience of the gift of the Holy Spirit” as well.

    John 16: 8, Acts 2: 37-40, Titus 3: 4-6.

  • We believe that the person of the Holy Spirit sanctifies believers and guides them to all divine truth through the Word of God.

    Romans 8:9, 1 Corinthians 6: 11/ 19, 1 Thessalonians 4: 8, 2 Thessalonians 2: 13, Acts 9: 31, Acts 13: 1-4.

  • We believe that the fruit of the Holy Spirit must appear in the believer’s life and daily conduct, just as spiritual gifts are given by God to His redeemed children for the sake of building His body, that is, the Church, and its work on earth.

    1 Corinthians 13: 4-11, Ephesians 4: 30, Galatians 5: 22-23.

Salvation

We believe that we are saved by the grace and blood of Jesus. We receive this grace by personal faith which results in sincere repentence and a baptism in the name of the father, the son and the Holy Spirit.

Acts 2: 36,2 Peter 3: 18, Hebrews 6: 1-3, Acts 2: 38, Acts 4: 12, Ephesians 2: 8, 1 John 1: 7, Colossians 2: 12-13, Mark 16: 16, Galatians 3: 26-37.

The Church

We believe that the Church is the body of Christ. It is the group of baptized disciples who are committed to the teachings of Christ.
